Microsoft Launches Bing Ad Network & Breaks the Yahoo Bing Ad Network

By February 19, 2016 June 26th, 2019 No Comments

The Yahoo Bing Network is no longer, as Microsoft has announced the launching of the new Bing Network. Bing Ads serves a good percentage of the Yahoo search results. This is a new development in the complex set of relationships between different search ad networks.

This will mark the transfer of all U.S. accounts from Yahoo to Bing. But the Bing Network is larger than that. It represents a wider network of partners comprising of Wall Street Journal, AOL, and many others. This keeps adding an increasing number of searches and clicks to this network.

How the Bing Network Came into Existence?

Microsoft and Yahoo may have entered a 10-year deal, but there was a renegotiation of the search deal last year. This was just after 5 years into the search deal.

Yahoo enjoyed the perks in the earlier deal because they were allowed to handle the premium accounts. But under the new, changed deal each company will handle its own customers. Due to this change, Bing has gone on a recruitment spree.

Bing’s Growing Influence

Microsoft has been working on expanding Bing across so many of its platforms. Instances have been seen across the following properties:

  • Windows 10
  • Cortana
  • Xbox
  • MSN (native advertising)

In fact the influence has also been seen over its syndication partners like Apple Siri, Spotlight search and Amazon devices. Microsoft is now on a mission to put Bing everywhere it can. The company also rebranded its search engine recently by giving it a new logo.

Bing is busying building new partnerships and expanding its reach across the Microsoft ecosystem. This means that Bing’s investment will now increase to boost up its own platform. This investment will also be essential for reassuring its existing and potential advertisers of its stability.

Changes in Reporting

Bing’s chart tracking weekly click volume has been pulled down from the Yahoo Bing network. It was being created by Bing Ads. The announcement of a new Bing Ad network was made after a big reporting error that made an impact on the Bing Ads system. It took Bing many days to get it resolved.
