Yahoo Local Business Listings Move to Yext for Improved Management 1

Yahoo has entered into a partnership with Yext to enable easier and more intuitive management of its users’ Local Basic Listing. If you are using Yahoo Small Business, you will now be able to get more options for publishing your listing across several publisher sites. You will also get a new dashboard from where you can easily manage your listing. The revamped dashboard will be rolled out next month and the search giant will notify it through an email.

What you Need to Do?

Yahoo has only announced the partnership and when the new dashboard is made available, you will have to verify your business info. The search engine also requires that users create new account with Yext. There is a window of 1 month from the time of the email notification, after which the listing will become unclaimed. But claims can also be made later.

You will not have to worry if you have a current edit to your Local Basic Listing which is still under review by Yahoo. Once you move to Yext, they will review it and further submit to Yahoo.

Benefits of Moving your Listing to Yext

Once you move to Yext, it will allow you to manage your listings on Yahoo for free. You could also upgrade to their PowerListings across a network of partner sites including:

  • Bing
  • Facebook
  • Yelp
  • FourSquare

And many others!

How to Claim your Listing?

You can claim each of your current Yahoo listings from Yext. Once the site approves your claim, you will be able to access the new dashboard for editing the listings. A claim can be submitted even if you are having a free listing with the search engine.

The partnership does not mean that Yahoo will discontinue its Local Basic Listing. The goal is to offer a better experience and the search giant will still power your listing.

According to Yahoo, the new dashboard will be released in November and you will be to manage and edit your listings. Once you receive the notification in your email inbox, Yext will become your platform for all the business listing needs. But you can access Yext PowerListings now without having to wait for the new dashboard for free claims.
